Self Defence
We need to look no further than a handful of recent news reports to realise violence, and aggression are rampant in our society. Would you like to know that you have the confidence, and the ability to avoid, or defend yourself and your loved-ones from an assault?
My name is Marcus Collings, and I have been responsible for training Correctional Officers, and Security Officers in Control & Restraint Techniques, Use Of Force, and Queensland Law. I also teach Assault Awareness & Self-defence to key personnel who work in high-risk environments. I would like to give you the opportunity to host a seminar on Assault Awareness & Self-defence.
The intention is to provide the participant with the knowledge and skills to stop, or avoid an assault before it becomes one, and therefore preventing it. In the case where physical self-defence is unavoidable, we give the participants the confidence to be able to defend themselves from an assault, by the proper legal, and humane use of physical force.
These skills are taught in a three-hour power point seminar. The first two hours of the seminar is theory, looking at Queensland law relevant to assault, assault awareness and how to avoid a potential assault, parity/disparity in relation to self-defence, and the effects of survival stress on performance.
The final hour is a “hands on” self-defence class, using techniques that are legally, medically and tactically acceptable, they are also user friendly, highly effective, and easily retained. We use similar self-defence techniques for many different types of attacks. This not only reduces reaction time, but also helps the participant remember the techniques taught in the seminar.
